FOI: The Response

Dec 04, 2023

I got a response back to my first FOI request.

November 29, 2023

Mr. Connor Feeley <address> Toronto ON <postal code>

Dear Mr. Feeley:

Subject: City of Toronto Access Request Number FOI-2023-02816 I am replying to your request, under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, for a copy of all monthly, weekly, and ad-hoc reports listed in sections 3.9.2, 3.9.3, and 3.9.4 of RFP 20190821 (https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2020/pa/bgrd/backgroundfile-141507.pdf): Section 3.9.2 (“Monthly Reports”): report numbers 1-29; Section 3.9.3 (“Weekly Reports”): report numbers 1-2; and Section 3.9.4 (“Ad hoc Reports”): report numbers 1-6.

Records search from February 1, 2020 to December 1, 2023. Your request was received in our office on November 27, 2023.

It has been determined that the requested records are under the custody or control of the Toronto Parking Authority which is designated as a separate institution under the Act. Therefore, your request is being transferred out, in full, to them for response under section 18 of MFIPPA. The address is as follows:

Toronto Parking Authority <name> 33 Queen Street East Toronto, ON M5C 1R5 Tel: <phone number> <email>@toronto.ca

The City of Toronto does not have any records responsive to your request. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact <name> at <phone> or <email>@toronto.ca.

Apparently the Toronto parking authority is not part of the City of Toronto. Okay.

I read section 18 of the MFIPPA and my layperson’s understanding is that they’ve forwarded my request and that I don’t have to do anything at this time. To make sure, I followed up with an email asking if that understanding is right; apparently it is.

Note: the information I redacted for the Toronto Parking Authority contact is for a different person than the redacted information in the final paragraph.
